He shook the rain from his sable cloak and looked up at the ever darkening sky. A faint clap of thunder could be heard off in the distance as the rain began to fall harder. Touda sighed. He gathered up the variety of grasses, plants and fungi he had managed to collect and began the long walk back towards his house. What a fine day it had turned out to be so far.
He awoke to find a note left for him in his father’s neat writing on the kitchen table. His eyes narrowed as he picked up the note and began to read.
Goto knockturn alley and pick up 3 beezors, asphodel, deadly nightshade, 1 pair of dragon hide gloves and 4 glass phials. You can fetch the rest of the required ingredients from out back. I will return sometime within the week and expect everything to be as requested.

As soon as he had finished reading he knew his day would be gone and whatever plans he had would be obsolete. The trip to Knockturn Alley wasn’t bad in itself aside from he had to actually converse with people. Now though, he was trudging through a swamp in the middle of a thunder storm all because of some inane task he father set on him, cursing like a sailor. By the time he arrived and let himself in he looked more like a drowned rat then a respectable wizard. His hair was plastered to his face and his cloak looked like he took it swimming. A simple drying charm would have done the trick but of course he was still underage and therefore could not practice magic outside of school.
He looked at his small collection of potion ingredients and decided that it would be best if he changed into dry clothes and got a bite to eat before he began to sort/dry out everything. He went to his small and sparse room and put on a plain black robe before heading to the kitchen. Hunger had decided to make itself known at this point and time so he wandered to the fridge to see if there was anything to eat. There was nothing as usual so Touda made due with a piece of toast. He no sooner took a bite when a quiet tapping could be heard on one of the front windows. Touda raised an eyebrow and headed towards the window to realise it was his owl Greywind. Touda quickly let his soaking wet and disgruntled owl in wondering what was so important it had to be delivered in the midst of a raging storm. Touda gave his owl a pat and some treats before opening the mysterious letter.

A small frown crept its way onto his usually expressionless face.
“Lucious Malfoy??” he silently wondered.
Why in the nine hells would Lucius Malfoy of all people want to invite a student to a ball. His mind was rapidly turning, trying to figure out if this was just some ploy by the ministry to make up for that whole fiasco over the summer or if there was some other ulterior motive. Either way the messaged seemed sound enough and if his father was here he would insist Touda attend in order to strengthen ties his father had made over the years.
He took a seat in an empty chair, toast forgotten and tried to figure out what he would do.
