And then there were none...

Oh, wait, wrong story.

Well, once upon a time there was a wonderful world of peace and cohabitation. And then, as "evolution" would have it, mutants popped up and screwed everyone over. All of a sudden, no one's secrets were safe. Even the gays could no longer hide in their closets. All hope was lost.

Well, true story, Magneto and the Brotherhood started out as a band of good crusaders, protecting mutant rights. Xavier was a close colleague and member of the Brotherhood. Together, they fought to establish a world in which mutants and humans could coexist... peacefully, or something similar. However, the world governments weren't seeing it that way. Japan and the United States hooked up in a threesome with China and developed the Sentinels.

Long story short, Sentinels began randomly kidnapping mutants and the government was 'hush hush' about it. Magneto got pissed and went on a rampage, destroying the White House in the process. He and Xavier fell out over the extremist methods, and Magneto ended up murdering his best friend and closeted lover. Poo. They would have had beautiful children. Well, things just went to hell from there. Full on war broke out as Sentinels became more aggressive. Mutants were killed on the streets in riots, and brutalized by the Sentinels.

Eventually, the mutants gathered together under Magneto and fought back. They did good, until the Sentinels went crazy. No one is sure why, but someone jacked up their programming and a hive mind was developed. Humans, mutants, and robots fought for control of the world. The end results aren't pretty.

Now, no one is safe as Sentinels prowl the earth, seeking whom they may devour. Yum. The X-Men have been formed, although their not quite as good as you may believe. The Brotherhood has been reborn, after Magneto's supposed death, as The Punishers. And X-Corps has formed to protect both humans and mutants. It's not a pretty world with the desolation and crime and mini wars going on everywhere, but you have to live in it. So stop crying, the world's already dead.
