So, we have 22 days until this long-awaited sixth film premieres. I for one am looking forward to it very much, but a bit skeptical after my great disappointment in Phoenix. I am hoping that they kept the frivolous additions and utterly wrong bits (ie. Umbridge busting her way into the Room of Requirement) to a minimum. The clips I have seen look promising, thought I am mildly disappointed at the removal of all but two memories. I personally feel that the attack on the Burrow, added to increase suspense, would have been time better spent on the memories.
Thoughts? Opinions? Sentiments? Raving Proclamations?
Cool.

OKAY. I have now seen Half Blood Prince three times and I have formulated my opinions... While I do think that this film was better than Phoenix overall, I do have several problems that I'd like to discuss (or with the lack of activity, proclaim to practically no one...) 1. The attack on The Burrow was completely gratuitous and added nothing. I had many problems with that entire scene...and here they are: Tonks looked sad, with brown hair and subdued clothing, but with that little "Sweetheart" they slipped in, they made it clear that she and Remus had already begun their relationship. Now, why would Tonks look miserable and lose her metamorphmagus powers if she was already with Remus? She goes back to pink hair when they are clearly together at Dumbledore's funeral in the book. Dumb. Also, why WHY why would Ginny tie Harry's shoe. That one is just weird. The burning of the Burrow just didn't make sense to me, namely because the Wedding is going to be held there at the start of the next film (Also curious as to how they're going to set that up, as they chose to completely remove Bill and Fleur from the plot.) And they are wizards, can't they just fix the house in a flash? Ugh... 2. I was sad that they didn't really include many memories because I don't think it really captured Voldemort's history. While I do understand why they made the cuts, I think it would have been beneficial to see Merope Gaunt and Tom Riddle Senior. 4. HARRY SHOULD HAVE BEEN FROZEN AND INVISIBLE DURING THE CONFRONTATION ON THE TOWER!!! He looked like a complete idiot just standing there and then Snape shows up and tells him to shush??? Stupid. 5. Snape should have been infuriated when Harry called him a coward. He was far too calm and the statement that he was the half blood prince was far too nonchalant. 6. By far, my biggest disappointment was the hiding of the potions book. HOW IS HARRY SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHERE RAVENCLAW'S DIADEM IS SINCE GINNY HID THE BOOK WITHOUT HIM SEEING??? I was truly expecting and excited to see the Diadem for the first time and was very sad/angry that they made this change. It will be interesting to see how they dig themselves out of these holes when the next two films come around. I think that all that they added could have been taken out in place of some important facts. Like Harry coming to own Grimmauld Place and Kreacher, the battle at the bottom of the tower, which would have given the action and suspense that was supposed to be added by the Burrow attack. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous that the Death Eaters just strolled leisurely through Hogwarts castle after Dumbledore was killed. So, I have a lot of complaints, but I do think they did a few things well: Felix Felicis and Aragog were brilliant. The relationships were wonderfully portrayed. I loved that they kept in Hermione's birds. Quidditch. Enough said. Slughorn was great, as were the two Tom Riddles. The Inferi were terrifying. I was also really impressed with Tom Felton. I thought he did a marvelous job. Katie Bell getting cursed was very creepy. This list could go on, but see the film if you haven't already and develop you own opinions.
