Book Character, or Original: original
Full Name: Lucy Ryan
Nicknames: Lu
Age: 25
Pets (if any): beagle named Sumi
Blood Lines: muggle mother, wizard father
Background: Lucy spent time split between the wizarding world and the muggle world, spending equal time with both of her parents who divorced when she was young. As a result she has both a mastery of her magic and an appreciation of muggle culture that made her a shoe-in for the muggle studies professor position at Hogwarts. She attended Hogwarts as a student, spending summers and holidays with her mother. She went to muggle university and got her teaching credentials before applying to Hogwarts
Personality: Lucy is friendly and outgoing with a great love of teaching and complete dedication to her students. She is quick to trust but gets hurt easily when betrayed.
Appearance: Lucy has dark hair, pale skin, blue eyes with a slender build.
What makes your character different: Lucy is equally comfortable in both the muggle and wizarding worlds. She is a dedicated professor who will do just about anything for her students to make sure they succeed. She also has an affinity for muggle technology.
What does your character thinks about Dumbledore: Lucy has much respect for Dumbledore from her time as a student and now as a professor.
Special Requests: Muggle studies professor
Sample: Lucy looked up from grading papers to see one of her 5th year students standing in the doorway. “What can I do for you Brian?” She asked with a smile.
“I just needed some help with my paper on muggle post.” Brian said quietly, obviously not excited about having to spend time with his teacher outside of class.
“That’s your topic?” Lucy asked, setting aside her quill and motioning for him to sit down. “What is giving you trouble with it?”
“I don’t understand how they use machines to sort the post.” Brian said, sitting in a chair across from her.
“Well, why don’t you use the classroom to watch this video that explains the muggle post.” Lucy said, pulling a video tape from a shelf behind her. “If you have any problems with the VCR, come let me know.”
