Where did you hear about us: Google, of course.
THE CHARACTER
Book Character, or Original: Original
Full Name: Moriane Lynne Loften
Nicknames: Mori, short for Moriane
Age: 1978
Year: Sixth, if I read your plot correctly. Harry is in the fifth year, yes?
Pets (if any): Grey Tabby kitten named Bandit
House: Ravenclaw
Slytherin
Gyffindor
Hufflepuff
Blood Lines: Magical Father (Xavier Loften) Muggle Mother (Kathrine Loften)
Background:
Moriane was born in Wales. Her parents needed a change of scenery after living there all of their lives, so they moved to London, which turned out to be more to their liking. They live now in a modest sized house in the suburbs. The house has four bedrooms with two bathrooms. The three children share the bathroom, though they each have their own rooms.
She attended public schools growing up, and did well in her lessons. She had a head for remembering facts in History and her science classes. Her spare time was spent at the library or running around with her brothers in parks. She was closest with her brother, Adrian, who was a year older than she. Her little brother, Jaise, is two years younger than her.
She was happy to receive her letter from Hogwarts, though she knew all about it when Adrian received his, and he told her of his first year. She was thoroughly excited when she was able to go with him his second year. The two were inseparable at school when she first started, though as they grew older they saw a bit less of each other as they developed friendships with others.
Personality: Moriane usually keeps to herself unless someone else approaches her and starts a conversation. She does this so that she knows her company is sought out for she does not wish to be a nuisance to anyone. When engaged in a conversation, she shares common interests and jokes with the other person, choosing subjects that are known to her so that she does not appear to be ignorant of things.
She works very hard in her studies at school, not because she likes to be the best, but only to better herself. She thinks if she can learn enough, then she can be a useful member to society after her schooling is done. Her favorite subjects are Charms, Transfiguration, and History of Magic. Her least favorite subjects are Divination and Arithmancy.
Moriane has few close friends, but is very open and affectionate towards them. Her acquaintances she never lets get too close, though if one seems like they truly want to be very good friends, she may let them in.
While she is usually pretty friendly, if someone comes along to bully her or her friends, she strikes them down with her witty tongue. It does not come often to blows, but she is more than happy to engage them in a blazing row, and she is not afraid to speak her mind.
Moriane likes to study law, Muggle and Magical. She hopes to find a job placement in either the Ministry of Magic for law-workings, or get into a lawyer position in Muggle London. She doesn't care which. She pours over the books she can find in the library that have anything to do with law.
She also likes to play Quidditch, but has never tried out for her House Team, though she thought she might enjoy it. Her favorite position is Keeper, though she is a fair Chaser when the small games they played required her to be one.
Appearance:
Moriane is five feet, four inches tall, with a trim body with only a small amount of muscle. She weighs one hundred and twenty five pounds. Her straight hair is black and is shoulder-length, though she usually puts it in a low ponytail tied at the top of her neck with a black scrunchie. Her skin lightly tanned, with small imperfections except for a scar down the top part of her left arm from a bycicle accident.
Her muggle clothes consist of dark blue or black jeans, with red, white, and blue button-up short sleeved shirts. She wears black shoes with silver shoe strings. She has two small silver hooped earrings in both earlobes.
What makes your character different: She takes her studying seriously, as she believes she'll be able to make a difference in the world with her ideas and speaking mannerisms.
What does your character thinks about Dumbledore:
She thinks he's an incredibly smart man, what with all of his accomplishments and whatnot. He gives endless advice to anyone who needs it, and he helps people realize what their true ambitions are. He gives hope and spirit. The world could use a little more of that.
Third Years to Fifth Years: DADA, History of Magic, Ancient Runes, Herbology, Potions, Charms, Transfiguration, Arithmancy
Sixth Years and up: DADA, History of Magic, Ancient Runes, Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, Herbology
Special Requests: Nope.

Moriane sucked in her breath as she caught her first glimpse of Hogwarts, the magnificent castle looming over her and the other first years as they made their way across the lake in the little boats as was customary for new arrivals to the castle to begin their schooling. She wondered how the creators could put so much glamour and magnificence into one building. Her brother had told her all about the moving staircases, and how the people in the paintings and photos moved (she'd seen these before, of course, but her mother was a Muggle and was still getting used to the idea, so they'd had stationary pictures in the house) and the giant squid in the lake (when she had first got in, she looked at the water but could only see her reflection, which looked scared and excited all at the same time.) She'd hoped to explore the whole castle, but knew that would be impossible the first night, with the students arriving just in time for the feast and would then be shuffled off to their beds.
She looked around as an ear-splitting scream was heard, and was shocked to see that wonderful sight at the end of the lake tumbling down, the towers crashing inward as the lower walls gave way. She gazed about her wildly as did the other students, who were weeping and staring at the tumbling structures. Why did no one do anything? What about the professors and students inside who could possibly keep the castle standing? Oh, how could something like that happen? Just as they were about to begin their quests of knowledge, friendship, and learning?
She sat up slowly in her bed, rubbing her eyes gently as she blinked her vision into focus. Taking deep breaths, she shook the image of Hogwarts falling down from her mind. It was the third time this year she'd had that dream.. and yet she was no closer to understanding it than she had been the first night. She looked around, seeing that she was safe in her bed with her year mates sleeping around her in their own beds. She got up and dressed quietly, for it was only early morning on a Saturday. She headed down the stairs and saw that only a few people were in the common room. Smiling at some of them, she waved at a friend and headed downstairs to breakfast.
