I thought things were bad with the OotP movie... It pains me further to be proven wrong. Apparently a near-complete test screening of the Half-Blood Prince was shown in Chicago this weekend. The response has been far from kind. I remind myself that it is a test screening, and such input does affect the outcome of the movie in the final cut... But in the case of this one I don't see what can be fixed save re-filming the entire back half of it. You can read the gory details below: Rowling, don't let them rape, murder, then rape again your baby!Really and truly sad

*shrugs* I stopped caring about the movie being like the books a long time ago and you have to ask yourself if the people that watch the movie even know about Harry Potter. Because maybe it's so close to the book that other people that like the movie don't like this one.
Again I always just say that I see the movie as a brand new thing.

I agree. This films are a whole different entity, so I try to view them as objectively as I can. I think that it is absolute hogwash that they moved the opening of HBP to next July, just because Dark Knight made a buttload of money on that day. People that are not going to see HBP are not going to see it, no matter when it opens. It was done for a foolish, selfish reason.
Also, the films add things that, in my opinion anyway, the books clearly make impossible...like busting through the wall into the Room of Requirement. Ugh.
Anyway, I'll still see the movie because it is an enjoyable experience and, well...what else am I going to do?

Really? That's the reason? Hilarious! I just go so I have an excuse to dress up and be a nerd....of course it kind of bad because when I watch it with book fans I end up commenting on it as if it's Rocky.
I didn't even watch Order in the theaters which is a shame because I think it's actually a good adaption.
