THE CHARACTER
Book Character, or Original: Original
Full Name: Kaelie Marianna Lorenze
Nicknames: Kay, or Kim. She got Kim from the first two initials she has. K.M. Add an “i” and you get Kim. It was one of Kyler’s dumb ideas. Kay came from the first part of her name. Her mother calls her Kay instead of her full name, Kaelie.
Age: 16 – 10/18/1979
Year: 6
Pets (if any): A large tuxedo (Black and white) female cat named Shadow
House Preference: Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff
Blood Lines: Mother (Delrina Lorenze) was a witch, and Father (Brennan Lorenze) was a muggle born wizard. Delrina and Brennan had met when she was in her third year and him in his fourth. Delrina had just been transferred from America, as her family was being deported back to Ireland.
Background: Kaelie Marianna grew up in a small family farmhouse out in Ireland, living with only her parents and her older brother, Kyler, whom also attended Hogwarts but refused to recognize her as his younger sister. She never thought much about it until she had started attending Hogwarts herself. Before knowing about her parents for what they truthfully were, Kaelie attended the local elementary school. Her curiosity overwhelmed her when there was a strange owl sitting outside her window, beholding her letter of acceptance to Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
In her first year of schooling at the new place she called home, Kaelie met new friends and people she almost could consider family. Although there were many problems with members of the other houses, she didn’t mind acting kind to them. Although there were a few certain people she wanted to tear limb from limb for all the torturous things they did to other people just because of who they were or what their parents did. It bothered her deeply. She had learned to control her temper with those people but yet she still did despise them.
In her second year at Hogwarts, Kaelie had moved on to more advanced magic than what she had learned the previous year, and she had kept her friends close and it seemed that the hatred she held was gone. Over the summer Kaelie had seen many things that she never wanted to see again. Moving back to the school year, Kaelie had fallen into a small crush for some one special. But she still to this day won’t admit to who it was. Although there were many guesses as to whom, Kay would always say no. She had many problems with in the school year, struggling with authority, and curfews. Along with this, she realized how bad her marks were. Kaelie was never the straight “A” student, most likely never would be. But she passed through the 2nd year with no problems, except for the crossing the line a few times.
The third year seemed to pass the slowest, with OWLs awaiting them in June. She had heard all the rumors about Sirius Black, and was told not to believe any of it. Her parents denied her any more information until she was older. In the meantime, Kaelie had her own suspicions about him. Yet she was not willing to share any of those either. In the end all was well. This was the year that Kyler had accepted her as the loving younger sister that she was. That really was what had made that year special for her.
In her fourth year, Kaelie was put through a very uncalled-for event. She had been accused of going after her brother and cursing him. It had been her wand, yes, but she was nowhere in the vicinity. One of Kyler’s friends had stolen her wand and mistaken it for some piece of whittled piece of wood. He flicked it slightly and the spell had hit Kyler. So the first week of school she had been back and forth between the Ministry and Hogwarts. It was the most frustrating week of her life. The rest of the school year went as usual, with the exception for the Yule Ball and all that jazz.
The fifth year on the other hand was much more confusing and everything. Kyler wanted her to join the Quittitch team but she wasn’t sure. He even tutored her how to play properly. But it wasn’t her type of thing. That was his. She always went and watched, drawing a quick sketch of the best play in the game. Art was more her style with all the different things you could pick. She had even drawn out team group pictures for each of the houses. And smaller group ones for the individual players. She wasn’t sure if they liked them, but she gave them to them anyways. That took up most of the time in the evenings and weekends, when she wasn’t finishing homework. It had only been the summer before when she had learned that expressing herself was a good thing.
Now moving into the events of her sixth year at Hogwarts, Kaelie wasn’t sure if she could handle all the different classes the year held. Its not that she wanted to go into a profession that included this special nuisance but she did not want to not include it either. It was part of her life now, and possibly always will be. What lies ahead for her only she can choose.
Personality: Kaelie is most likely one of the most silent people you will ever meet. She listens intently to what everybody is saying and likes to help out in times of need. She isn’t one of the most talkative people, but she really helps you understand what you need to hear whether you want to hear it or not. Everything is very straightforward and blunt. Kay isn’t one to lie, but she has had a few white lies now and then. She really makes a good shoulder to cry on, only because she knows how a lot of people feel by looking at them. Even if they are hiding it behind a smile, she always knows. When you get to know her, Kaelie is very outgoing and all for the fun in things, even if most people don’t see the fun in it.
“For all that its worth, nothing is worthless. Everything is worthwhile” that is her saying. How it makes sense only she knows. Not even Kyler knows what she means, and he knows a lot about her. Kaelie hates being told what to do but she usually follows only because one more ‘step’ out of line and she’s being expelled. Then again, maybe being expelled wouldn’t be so bad.
Appearance: She doesn’t have height but she makes up for it in heart. Kaelie stands at 5’5, the shortest member of her family. Kaelie’s eyes are what she calls a very mysterious icy bluish green colour. Long wavy hazelish brown hair hangs to about mid back, with highlights of light brown and blonde. A very strong Irish accent stands out when she is talking with friends, but other wise she can blend in with the English accents around the school. Usually, when out of uniform, Kaelie is adorned in denim jeans, a black capped-sleeve tee shirt, and an old pair of running shoes.
Her long hazel hair was either down, up in a ponytail, or up in a bun at all times, and her bluish-green ice eyes always hidden behind a pair of small-framed glasses that she used for reading. She had a very well planned-out strut that seemed to catch eyes once in a while. Which included a slight sway in the hips and almost walking in a straight line. But most of the time she walked around like a tomboy, a whatever type of path.
What makes your character different: Well to make her different, she loves being on the wild side of things. Thrill and excitement and what such, that’s who Kaelie Marianna was. She enjoyed all the fun things in life, but yet she was still a quiet person. Kaelie draws everything she finds amazing or eye boggling. That was her talent.
What does your character think about Dumbledore: She believes that he is one of the most influential people in her life. Always striving for the best in everything. No matter what it is. Kaelie also believes that Professor Dumbledore is one of the better wizards of the century.
Third Years to Fifth Years: Not Applicable
Sixth Years and up: DADA, Astronomy, Muggle Studies, Divination, History of Magic
Special Requests: None
Sample: Stepping off the train and glancing around, Kaelie Marianna Lorenze gasped at the sight she saw. The largest castle she had ever seen in her life, and she was going to live in it? What a shock to the system. Hagrid, the groundskeeper, scared her but she soon realized how kind he was. Stepping off the small rickety boat, she clambered up toward the school. Kaelie had lost track of the time while they were on the Hogwarts Express, yet she never thought that the school was this elaborate. Although she had heard some stories from her brother, Kyler, her expectations were met way beyond she had imagined. Hazel hair swung behind her as she flickered her head around the surroundings trying to take it all in. Icy blue-green eyes captured what they could see in the darkness. Suddenly a door swung open in front of her.
All the candles and warmth that flowed from the castle hit her and Kaelie felt at home immediately. All the people were quietly chatting as they entered the Great Hall, and it went dead silent. There was a very eerie feeling about this but she patiently awaited her name to be called. For what seemed like hours, she stood. Waiting, slowly growing more impatient, although she spotted her brother right away, he totally ignored her, as he usually did. Which house was he in again? Oh yea, Slytherin. But she wanted to be in a different house. But yet she wanted her big brother to save her if anything came up. Oh the decisions.
Finally, after her name was called twice, Kay came back to reality and hopped up to the stool. The hat was placed upon her head. “Hmm very hard to place you are. You are quite mischievous, yet loyal, a good mind and sense of friendship too. Yet I sense hatred within you. Very hard to pick. It ought to be… SLYTHERIN.” She smirked. Maybe it was luck, then again, maybe it was pure feelings. She wasn’t sure if it was anything at all. Kaelie sauntered over to the Slytherin table with a cheeky smile upon her face. “You see Kyler I’m good for something.” She muttered, smirking at her brother.
I am not an amazing chocolater… No matter what you all may think.
