August 23, 1:30 PM
It had taken several days worth of reminding her parents that she needed to get her books and materials for her up-and-coming final year at Hogwarts. Finally, after what seemed like nearly an eternity, her mother told her last evening at dinner, "We will be travelling to Diagon Alley tomorrow to get your supplies." Then she'd taken another sip of wine and was off talking to her father about some charity she was hoping to work with this upcoming fall. But that was alright, Scarlet had work to do.
Having been sure to organize her list (with a few personal addendums of her own), Scarlet stepped through the brick archway of Diagon Alley with her parents behind her. She headed first and immediately to Flourish and Blotts, certainly one of her favourite shops of the little market. This was, really, where she had to do the majority of her shopping. Scarlet inhaled the old, crisp scent of books as her light green eyes took in the shop. It wasn't terribly full, though it was obvious that the Hogwarts Train was soon about to take them all away to another year of learning. Scarlet politely side-stepped a leaving family and began her search for her books.
It did not take long at all to accumulate those books that she needed (and the two extra she'd added on to the list); soon they were bought, paid for, and wrapped up to go. Before Scarlet could ask, her father was sliding more gold across the counter. "See that these get to this address before the end of the evening." He wrote down the address of their London flat. Her parents had decided that a week in London would do them all good; they could attend to business, a little bit of pleasure, and see Scarlet off and onto the Hogwarts express before heading back to their manor in the country.
Pursing her lips and squaring her shoulders, Scarlet spared a quick, wry smile for the shopkeep before heading out into Diagon Alley to collect a few more school items and then find some supper.
