Background: Narcissa Aileen Black was born on Valentine’s Day of the year 1955. She was the daughter of Cygnus Black, a descendent from the pure-blood Black Family and Druella Rosier. Her great-great grandfather was Phineas Nigellus Black, who was married to Ursula Black. He was best known for being the worst headmaster Hogwarts had ever had, though with Dumbledore now being considered a madman. He might not have been so bad.
Well coming from a prestigious family meant money, all the Blacks had money. Cygnus Black was the third child born to Pollux Black and Irma Crabbe. The first was his charming sister Walburga Black, mother to Sirius and Regulus. And then there was his creepy brother Alphard, who later gave money to Sirius earning him a prestigious burning off the family tree. Cygnus was much like his sister, they believed in wizards and muggles remaining apart. Since Cygnus was much younger than his sister, he grew up with her much more like a second mother. She protected him when Alphard would try to knock some sense into him.
His first big loss was when Walburga left to marry their third cousin, Orion Black. It left Cygnus and his older brother Alphard. But Alphard soon left, and Cygnus thought that he would be pampered. It wasn’t the case because his parents announced that he would soon be marrying Druella Rosier, a girl he knew from Hogwarts. Truthfully he didn’t know her that well, but to say no to a Black arranged marriage was an instant way for one to be knocked off the tree. And so Cygnus and Druella had married.
Shortly into their marriage, they were blessed with Bellatrix in 1951, and about 2 years later it was Andromeda. So on the birth of their third child, Cygnus prayed that just like he was the third child and a male, that this child would be a boy. No luck for Cygnus. On February 14, 1955, Cygnus and Druella were blessed with their third child Narcissa.
Growing up, Narcissa and her sisters varied in looks. Bellatrix took after her father and the Blacks, sporting dark hair and deep set dark eyes. Andromeda had lighter hair, and Narcissa on the other hand was blonde with bright blue eyes that seemed to sparkle like sapphires. It was nice to have sister who totally didn’t look like you, it made her feel special.
As a young child, Narcissa would tag along with her sisters. She enjoyed playing with them and learning from them. Home, which would otherwise be filled with horrors, seemed fun and loving to the youngest. She was hidden away from the problems by Bella and Andromeda. The family members who were burnt off the tree were not part of her memories since she was kept from anyone, who could damage the babies mind. Bella was head strong, and Andromeda had shown early signs that she would one day betray the family.
When her sisters both went to Hogwarts, it was the first time Narcissa was being shown the world without rose colored glasses. She was expected to be meek and polite at all times, and always to humble herself in front of men. Every day she was more and more brain washed by her mother to follow in the woman’s footsteps. She was being shown how to serve at tea parties, and to do needle point stitching for fun. Narcissa was being trained to be a proper young woman in the wizarding world.
Maybe it angered her sisters a bit, but Narcissa didn’t care. She knew these types of mannerisms were respected by gentlemen. Narcissa knew there would be a man that would come to love her gentle meek ways, and take her for a bride. She started wondering what type of self respecting wizard would want a head strong woman or a defiant brat. As the years went on both women did fall in love to her surprise.
In 1966, Narcissa started her first year in Hogwarts. Nothing much happened during her first year. She pretty much stayed with her snobbish friends, who acted like pampered princesses. Year two was much the same, except she had a secret crush on a third year student. She harbored that crush until fourth year, watching him date various women. But still he didn’t seem to connect with any of them, something which made her happy. The thing was getting noticed by the gentleman. But he didn’t seem to look at her, let alone say anything to her. She tried every trick, but each one failed.
However at the end of fourth year, a first year Gryffindor collided with her in the halls. She had goop all over her, and worse the brat ran away. The blonde fellow she had secretly pawned over helped her. He then escorted her back to the common room where he introduced himself as Lucius Malfoy. A date had soon followed, and instantly they were an item. Narcissa Black was in love.
Each year was a joy because it gave her an opportunity to be with him. Nothing else mattered. The only year that seemed to drag on was her seventh and final year since Lucius had graduated the previous year. She clung to the notes he would write her. It was lonely since notes couldn’t kiss you at night or take strolls on the grounds. But she did see him on some of the Hogsmeade weekends. He’d come to visit her.
When Narcissa finished Hogwarts she began to become more seriously involved with Lucius Malfoy among a number of things. She joined the Witches’ League, which was a group of wealthy witches determined to make a brighter future for generations of wizards and witches to come. Narcissa also worked on charity projects, the woman wanted to make a good name for her self, a name that would command respect even before she would marry Lucius since he had proposed to her.
Now that Narcissa was engaged to Lucius, she spent much of her time planning the big event. Like every bride, she picked out the china patterns that would grace each table, the music that would be played, and the floral arrangements everyone would see. She had to attend fittings for her gown, and the gowns of he bride’s maids, matron of honor, and dresses for both mothers. Narcissa wanted her special day to be perfect. June of 1976, was just that, perfect. Narcissa Aileen Black was forever more known as Narcissa Aileen Malfoy, wife of Lucius Malfoy. It was a title she adopted with great pride and love.
Her next biggest event was in December of 1979, Narcissa found herself sick quite often, unusually so that it forced her to go to St. Mungo’s. But Narcissa wasn’t sick at all, she was pregnant. It was a thrill to both her parents and Lucius’. So much so that the only thing that could go wrong would be that the child was a girl. It didn’t.
On June 5, 1980, Lucius and Narcissa became the proud parents of a healthy baby boy. He had his father’s grey eyes and his mum’s nose. The boy was perfect in every way. They named him Draco, for dragon, a real go getter. His middle name was Lucius, a tribute to Narcissa’s only love. Draco Lucius Malfoy was everything both the Black and Malfoy families wanted.
Cygnus Black wanted to honor his only grandson. Seeing as how Sirius was a joke and burnt of the family tree, and Regulus was dead, there would be no more Blacks added to the tapestry. Cygnus Black along with his sister Walburga made an exception for Narcissa’s son. Instead of the usual notation of 1 son when a child was born to a Black female, Draco’s name would appear on the family tree, a hope he would carry on the great Black legacy.
Narcissa wasn’t exactly the greatest mother, so to help her in raising Draco she hired a fleet of Nannies and Governesses. To make sure he was happy she’d spoil him and dote over him. On rare occasions, she would try and get away from Lucius and peek in on Draco. There were even times when she would stay in his room and cuddle him. She’d sing him to sleep or if he was awake, she’d entertain him. But it wasn’t all the time, just rare moments.
As they watched Draco grow, Narcissa wanted her baby close by. It started a fued. Lucius wanted Draco in Durmstrang, but Narcissa used everything to have Draco go to Hogwarts. It was true the school wasn’t up to par, but Narcissa liked the fact her son would be closer to home.
As Draco went off to Hogwarts, she would send him sweets and other goodies to remind him how much she loved and missed. Narcissa knows he is getting too old for this kind of treatment, she doesn’t care she wants him to remember her love for him.
One of the worst years for Narcissa was in 1992. It started with the passage of her father. He died peacefully. It was true the man wasn’t exactly the nicest guy in the book, but she did admire the way he broke tradition and put Draco on the family tree, showing him to be a royal Black. Next was watching her husband make a stupid mistake, which resulted in him loosing his position as a Governor of Hogwarts. Narcissa didn’t say a word though, remembering her place in life was to make her husband feel secure.
For two years things went quiet, that was until the Dark Lord was reborn. Harry accused Lucius of being Death Eater. Luckily they thought he was crazy and Lucius was never publicly forced to trial. It was a close call, allowing him to remain in the ministry. In the Malfoy home things seemed to look brighter, and that made Narcissa feel a bit at ease.
But in Draco’s fifth year, Lucius told Narcissa about the camp. Narcissa as usual begged Lucius for Draco to not go. They both crafted a European vacation for Draco. He would spend the summer studying Europe with his mum. Sure that meant being in muggle places, but this was historical and cultural venues, not the motor speed way. Draco and she attended the opera, ballets, and other events the wealthy usually partook in. Upon there trip in Rome, Lucius called them home. Two days later he was appointed Minister of Magic, Narcissa was so proud of her husband and still is.
Now that she is the wife of the minister, Narcissa is looking to continue serving the wizarding world, but also reaping the benefits of such a position. Being invited to all the parties, and every important British event, Narcissa would have to attend.
Personality: She tries to act sweet and nice, but it comes off sounding rather cold and not meaningful. She is only sweet to those she truly loves, which are Lucius, Bellatrix, and Rodolphus. She also dotes and frets over those she truly cares for, like Lucius.
However, Narcissa can be rather charming and polite. She speaks humbly in front of high ranking officials, and Lord Voldermort. She is one never to voice her opinion in public, especially if it were in defiance of Lucius Malfoy. She speaks softly in front of strangers, and will tend to keep quiet until spoken to.
Narcissa can be rather nasty to disowned family members, their spouses, and friends. When it comes to enemies that she can publicly hate, she will show little mercy to putting them down. She has a sharp tongue, although it’s more subtle than Lucius'. When things seem to go wrong for her, she runs to tell Lucius or anyone else with much greater power than she.
Besides her husband, the only other male to have captured her heart is her son Draco. From the moment of his birth, Narcissa has given him everything. Yes, she wasn’t the one who changed his nappy. But at night, she was the one to check on him. To further show her love, she sends weekly care packages. Usually they are stocked with homemade sweets and letters from her. Once in a blue moon, she will get Lucius to add in a few more things to give him. She always is ready to show both Lucius and Draco that she adores them a lot.
Appearance: Narcissa Black isn’t the typical Black with dark features. She has extremely fair skin, bright blue eyes, and long blonde hair. Her face is long and slender to match her figure. Her eyes are naturally narrow, but are have a certain degree of elegance due to the long eyelashes she has. Narcissa’s lips aren’t that full looking, but they still have shape without lipstick. Her cheeks have a light blush to them, which is common for her skin tone. Together with these features she has a sort of elegant and regal look about her. The only feature that some have laughed about is her pointy up turned nose, which looks like someone shoved dung underneath it. Narcissa’s long blonde hair cascades past her shoulders and she usually sports bangs which she sweeps out of her face. Her hair is shiny and silky; Narcissa takes pride in her looks, after all her name is derived from the god who adored looking at himself in the river.
Narcissa is fairly tall and slender for a woman. She stands at 5’7” and weighs 125 pounds. She looks all like the delicate flower for which she was named after.
When Narcissa walks her steps are delicate and precise, much like a ballerina. You can usually detect her presence in advance by the way her stiletto heels click up against the floor. They make a sort of rhythmic sound of tap tap tap. Narcissa never slouches; she is after all a lady. Her legs are always crossed at the ankle and hands on her lap when she is in public. But once she is the seductress, all her manners can go out the window.
Her speech is also that of a lady. She never raises her voice or yells. She tends to have a pleasant and possibly sickly sweet voice when she talks, especially to those she doesn’t like. Around people worthy of her time, her voice is soft spoken and gentle, always pleasant, but being left alone with those that she can not tolerate calls for her low, nasty, spiteful tone. It is one most people never hear, but she has been known to use it around muggle-borns, and pathetic low lifes, like Sirius Black.
As for what she wears, Narcissa will only wear the finest wizarding robes in the world, nothing less than the best for her delicate features. She wears robes of lilac, rose, baby blue, or traditional black. The one thing she won't even dare look at is disgusting muggle clothing. She wears a beautiful heart shaped diamond engagement ring, with her expensive wedding band, and locket with Lucius picture inside.
Sample: Taken from the Years In Between
Narcissa uneasily sat there, lost in thought. Bellatrix was the first to get engaged. She loved him and he in turn was well respected by the family. So it was perfect. Her other sister should have been engaged to Lucius, but she ran off to marry a freak and reproduce mini freaks. Narcissa was the last of the Black sisters, soon she would be of the noble Malfoy family. It was a lot for a young girl to inhale.
A voice brought Narcissa out of her own world, and she quickly spun around to see her older sister standing behind her. The words welcome home actually almost made Narcissa cry. Narcissa didn’t have a home; she was shuttled between one place and another. Currently her home was a layover until her wedding in which she would be settling into an unknown home. She scoffed off Bella’s welcome, “home, I honestly feel like a guest here.” She didn’t mean to sound rude, but it was her nerves.
She quickly apologized, “I’m sorry! Of course it’s good to be home, thank you.” Her blue eyes fell to the floor. She sighed as if the world was coming to an end, “It’s just that within weeks my home won’t be in London. I’ll be moving to Wiltshire… I think that’s where he is from.” She tried to give her sister a smile, but it wasn’t bright because there were still fears inside of her. It was fears that would pass but with a lot of time.
“I mean I love Lucius, but…” Was Narcissa admitting outloud that she was slightly nervous? She couldn’t admit her nervousness, so she asked the only sensible question. “What was it like when you got married?” She couldn’t run and tell their mother, the woman would fear Narcissa was backing out. To the true Black Family, Narcissa was marrying the equivalent of royalty. So any concerns she even based would sound wrong. Narcissa wasn’t going to back out, she just needed answers. And possibly a little more time with him.
She blinked her blue eyes, curiously waiting for Bella to say something. Narcissa was scared that even Bella might say something that she didn’t quite want to hear, or worse she’d run and tell one of the Mrs. Blacks. Since there was silence between the two, maybe the girl was in shock over Narcissa’s questions. Why did she say it? She knew she shouldn’t have, but then again Narcissa wanted to understand what it was going to be like when she woke up next to a man. She wanted to know if her feelings were normal, or if she was internally backing down and disappointing her family. But for some reason she was sure she wasn’t backing down. After all, he was gorgeous, rich, powerful, and a pureblood, everything she had imagined for herself in a husband.

I am not an amazing chocolater.
