Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
The time of the wizarding war against Lord Voldemort is gone. Now, a year after the events that involved The Boy Who Lived and You-Know-Who, Hogwarts is as back to normal as is possible. Seventh years graduated as normal, Dumbledore is still dead, and all students have moved up a successive year. The wizarding world is as much at peace as is possible.
The Ministry of Magic is going about its business covering up about the war, fixing anything that needs to be fixed. There are many wounds left to heal and the Ministry is at work doing just that, or as much so as possible with how corrupt it started to become near the climax of the war (around the time of the confrontation between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort). Minister Scrimgeour is still in charge and an able Minister, but that does not necessarily speak for those below him. His subordinates may have plans that conflict with his, and are more ruthless to get them accomplished. Even though all of this internal conflict is happening within the Ministry, their eyes are still outwards, and at Hogwarts.
Still poised to attempt a full takeover of Hogwarts, the Ministry is knocking on Hogwarts' doors. The newly-appointed Headmaster, Ronald Duegan, is fighting the Ministry's every effort to take full control over Hogwarts and has yet to yield ground. But when a new legislation is close to being passed by the Ministry, the Headmaster might need to temporarily retreat and give up some of the ground he has been protecting so fiercely. The Ministry may yet gain a foothold and sliver of control and power within Hogwarts. Once tasted, power is something that is yearned for. The Ministry would not give up until given full reign of Hogwarts.
Not to mention the fact that there are still a number of Voldemort's Death Eaters yet to be caught and put back into Azkaban. Most of them have been returned to Azkaban, although this once-stronghold's security is questionably due to the suspicious intents and alliances of the guarding Dementors. Considering their previous abandonment of the prison, a watchful eye is always geared towards Azkaban. For now, it is more locked up than Gringotts bank (although that may not be saying much either).
And here enters a new generation of witches and wizards to Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Will the Ministry come to control Hogwarts? Will Azkaban be a safehold or will all the prisoners escape? And what of those Death Eaters that are still at large? Only you can find out by being a part of these unfolding events.
